I handing out the following sheets to you today (there are extra's in the extra drawer)

Genetics Vocabulary Worksheet- due Monday 5/21 next week

Test cross worksheet Packet- due Wed 5/23 next week

Making a baby data sheet- bring this to class with you on Monday5/21 as you will need it. This will be due Wed 5/23

I will not be in class on Monday. Here are the sub plans I am leaving..

· Take attendance

· Have the students swap homework papers (genetic vocabulary and Punnett square stuff) with someone ACROSS FROM THEM

o Instruct them to fill in the “correct by” section at the top of the paper with their name

o Use the master located in the “H” drawer and read off the answers

o Instruct the students to record the NUMBER of CORRECT answers at the top

§ Remind them that each question on the math side is worth two points!

o Have them turn the HW back into you so I can record their grade

· Kids have already been versed on the “making a baby activity”

· They already have the “data” sheet

· Please pass out the numbered Lab instruction sheets that are located in the “h” drawer to the right of the white board. They only need one per group

o Instruct students to work on this activity..it will be due next class

o Remind them they will be graded on the quality of their baby drawing

o Blank paper for their drawing is located in the “H” drawer

o Colored pencils for this drawing is located by the computer

· HW:

o Remind them that the “test cross” worksheet they got last class will be due Wed.

o Their baby’s will be due Wed.

· Please put these supplies back in the “H” drawer when you are done so other classes have use of them

o PLEASE make sure you get all the numbered lab instruction sheets back, so they are available for all the other classes today and put them back in the “H” drawer

TEST NEXT CLASS on gene expression, the PGLO lab, and the mutation internet worksheet. MAKE sure to pay attention to the questions on the last page that ask you to report a real life example of each type of mutation. This will be a matching section on the test.

NOTE there is a power point and some word notes on FaWeb for you to reference and use as a study tool!

You are welcome to come in and get your HW packets anytime starting Monday to use them to study for the test!
