Thursday 10-29-09

In Class:
Journal
Notes on Carbohydrates
Time in class to finish your water lab
Time in class to start your macro molecule class projects

HW:
The water labs will be collected next class
I will be colleting your carbohydrate reading questions next class
You should complete up to the lipids portion of your macromolecule HW packet so you don't get overwhelmed when it is due

Reminders:
don't forget to gradually work on the Ch 6 reading guide
you should have started your at home experiments by now.... they are due 11/23!!!!

Your at home science projects are due on Friday. Here are the parts of the formal lab write up I would suggest you do to complete this assignment correctly:

Materials and methods
Experimental Essentials

I would recommend doing it the "required" way so you don't have to redo it later, when you are completing your entire formal lab write up.

Example 1
A researcher wanted to study the effects of sleep deprivation on physical coordination. The researcher selected 25 year-old male college students and deprived some of the subjects to either 24, 36, or 45 hours of sleep.

  • The info for number 21 on this worksheet is on Netclassroom. See prior blog posting to see how to access that word document from Netclass room!

2. Complete the reading guide you got last class...I think it is on pink paper!

3. Check the BLOG for the binder items I am checking next class and see the order they are to be organized

4. Study for your test

Alka-selzer lab formal write up is not due until MONDAY OCTOBER 12!!!!!!!!!

at that page you will see a section titled, "documents"
The movie data will be under that section and you can just click on it and print!

Thursday 10-1 HBio 9-10-11

HAPPY OCTOBER GUYS!!!!!!!

In Class:
  1. Journal while Mrs. Jenkins checked off your sponge bob packet AND your Inferences (TV commercial) packet
  2. gave answers to sponge bob packet
  3. Took the quiz (see propr blog post for info on the quiz)
  4. Went over the metric lab as a class where Jenkins made three major points:

1 cc = 1 ml

how to convert 5ml squared into 5 liters squared, ect.

that 1g of water is equal to 1 ml of water AT 4 degrees celcius


HW:
you can start working on your reading questions that go with chapter one. THey will be due the day of the exam

We are performing a lab next class...be sure to come dresses appropriatly!

Your chapter one exam is on Wed of next week and we will also be doing a binder check that day!
